This week, the year 4s began their water safety lessons. They talked about what they should and should not do if they every see someone in distress when out in the water. They practised the reach technique where they lay down by the waters edge and held something out for the person in distress to grab. They also had a go at the throw technique where they had to throw an item which would float so the person in distress had something to hang on to so they could reach the water’s edge safely. They did a fantastic job, and remember… Reach or throw, but never go!
