Y5’s Islamic art

Y5 have painted their clay Islamic design using the four main components: geometric patterns, vegetal patterns, calligraphy and figural elements. We are well and truly blown away by how they turned out. Well done Y5! 🙂

Y5 carve with clay #hatters

Islamic art is very different to art found in Europe. Art in Islam is dominated by geometric designs usually with patterns, colour, texture and calligraphy. The children carved these patterns onto their clay stars ready to paint next week.
